2010 Fund Raiser
Generator Raffle
The winning tickets for the generator raffle were drawn at the July 15, 2010, SHARC meeting. ML Kallaway, KB5SBQ, was kind enough to draw the winning tickets, which were as follows:First Prize: UST 2000-watt generator: Becky Snook of Belvidere, NJ (younger daughter of Dave and Judy Haney, W3SJ and KB3AAM).
Second Prize: $50: Rosemarie Class of Spring Hill
Third Prize: $25: Stu Raymond of New Port Richey
After the raffle was over, Dave Haney felt bad that no SHARC members had won anything, so he donated $100 for a special after-raffle prize to be awarded only to a SHARC member. Mike Wagner, WB1DJC, won this prize.
In all, 160 of the 200 available tickets were sold, which will help replenish the SHARC treasury for a while. 87 tickets were purchased by SHARC members for themselves or others in their immediate households while 73 tickets were purchased by others. Since all three winning tickets in the official raffle drawing were from among the 73 “others,” I guess 73 really is a lucky number --- just not for hams in this particular instance !
